Inspiration 1:
As any proud cliche of a white girl would say, Audrey Hepburn is amazing. Of course, as an actress, I admire her abilities to perform convincingly, but that isn't why she's an inspiration.
Audrey Hepburn was a Goodwill ambassador with UNICEF. She won the Congressional Medal of Freedom . She had a heart for the needy, and she used her wealth and fame to better others. She traveled to Third World countries (a term she notoriously despised, by the way) helping countless children. Audrey Hepburn immersed herself in other cultures to end poverty. She even personally helped vaccinate all of Turkey!
It's easy for celebrities to throw money at a problem (or ignore it). Audrey was not that kind of person. She was hands-on and openhearted, even in the midst of dangerous political unrest.
So, yes. Audrey Hepburn inspires me. Not to be pretty and wear black dresses with big hats, but to travel the world. And, more importantly, to leave each nation better than I found it.
To sum this all up, I'll leave one of my favorite pictures of her:
Inspiration 2:
Much less well-known, but even bigger-hearted is Katie Davis. This woman... Oh man. She is amazing.
Long story short, Katie Davis is a native Tennesseean from Nashville. At the age of 19 she took a mission trip to Uganda. Nothing too extraordinary yet, right? Well, on her trip, Katie decided that she needed to be in Uganda longer-term. This led to the idea of moving there for a year. That's pretty intense, but the most radical thing is what happened after she made that decision.
To use her own words, Katie "quit her life." She sold her cute sports car, got rid of almost everything she had, and broke up with her long-term boyfriend. She moved to Uganda, and at the age of 21 adopted 13 girls!!!!! I don't mean that she just takes care of some kids like a shelter. She literally is the adoptive mother of 13 young girls. And she's 25.
Katie answered a call from the Lord and it changed everything about her life. But she is so amazingly happy. Usually I don't strive to be like other people because we are all flawed and imperfect. If I was going to pick anyone, though, it'd be Katie.

That Katie girl, wow. She is our age, and i cant even imagine having 13 adopted anything! She is awesome and i want her bravery and humble heart! And i love that photo of Audrey, it says so much. "history remembers her as pretty". Goodness, that's sad that all her other accomplishments and good deeds are not really acknowledged as much as her good looks.
